Hey y'all! Hope you are doing well. Today I am sharing how Robert makes his cranberry bliss recipe. This is like the vintage tv dinner dessert he remembered from when he was a kid.
I made a video showing how I make it. You can find that here.
Start by dicing the apple into 1/4" x 1" strips. Toss them in lemon juice to prevent browning.
Rinse one full bag of cranberries removing any debris or bad berries.
While the cranberries are draining add water and sugars to the pot.
Bring to a boil for 1-2 minutes until the mixture starts to clear up.
Then add the apples with juice and cranberries. Return to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Stirring frequently. The cranberries will start popping in the pan. Don't worry that is normal. After about 15 minutes a few cranberries may not have popped. Help them out by pushing on them with a spoon and they will pop.
Put in a dish to cool.
While that is cooling crush a sleeve of graham crackers or use 1 1/2 cups of store bought graham cracker crumbs.
Add the graham cracker crumbs to the bottom of a baking dish in a smooth even layer.
Spoon on the warm cranberry sauce in an even layer as well.
Bake this at 300 degrees F for 20 minutes. If you are baking this in a non convection oven bake for 30 minutes.
Let it cool 10 - 15 minutes. Serve and Enjoy!
